Each author gives excellent information, with many great suggestions and resources for further study. It thoroughly examines the subject of excessive wild-harvesting to the point of endangerment of many species that were once quite common. This book gives thoughtful and interesting advice on how to be good stewards of the Earth and to help these plants prosper.

On vacation this spring we found a "Dears head Orchid". Rare! I wanted to know so much more about the tiny plant. I have several houseplants that are slippers. No greenhouse, need the best care information.Grand-mother told me that Lady slippers carpeted the forest floor when she was young. This is the first for me and couldn't believe my eyes! It doesn't grow below 5500 feet. Just the leaf lays under the snow, all winter. The proability of seeing this was once in a life time! Thank You1

I learned so much and felt so connected to the writers/herbalists and the herbs. Learned some cool stuff about some of the herbs that I never knew either... great for the book collection of every herbalist.

This book is alright but there are so many better books on Embryology out there that I have to give low stars to this book. First of all, it does not go into good details. If you get confused or stuck on a point, there is absolutely no elaboration-- you have to go look it up on Google. If this is your first time taking Embryology, I guarantee you that you're going to get confused in just the 2nd and 3rd chapter. I prefer Human Embryology & Developmental Biology by Bruce M. Carlson because that book is quite detailed and it's written so that you understand exactly what's going on. The pictures are detailed and just enough "extra" info is provided as not to bog you down into details but still be able to understand the book if you get stuck somewhere. I, honestly, didn't even bother with this book for the class except for the clinicals in the blue boxes. Everything else, I just referred to my Human Embryo book.

I don't like the fact that all kindle books don't use page numbers. It uses location numbers. This is a text book and my professor assigns reading pages based on page number not location numbers. So I have to find someone with a hard copy to find what I am looking for. I don't recommend using kindle for text books for this exact reason.

Got it as expected, used (underlined, frayed edges, slight stains) but useable & perfectly readable.

This book was required for my undergrad embryology class. An I have to say that I really like it. The student consult online access have some audiovisuals that were really helpful. Also learning from it was facilitated by the clinically oriented approach. The only complain is that the end of chapter questions are out of chapter for some chapters in the online version of the book.

I feel that I have made some major changes in my heart through God and his forgiveness. My wife has forgiven me but the healing process is still on-going and I know in time we both will heal and have a much stronger and happier marriage than we ever have had. God does like divorce and if that message is on your mind read this book, seek God direction and Words and pray pray and pray again. God will answer you, maybe not today or tomorrow, but in His time.

And Other Short Stories, the same nine stories in that book also appear in this collection, along with five new Kafka adaptations by Kuper. The new ones are among the best (and longest) yet though, so still worth having for the serious Kafka and/or Kuper fan. Particularly noteworthy were the new adaptations "The Burrow" and "In the Penal Colony". If your interest is more marginal and you already own the previous collection, then you may want to pass on this one.

This graphic short stories, by Peter Kuper, ARE by turns paradoxical, macabre, comic, allegorical and indeed--Kafkaesque. Kuper is inspired by a master of woodblock prints, Lynn Ward, author of God's Man (1929) Madman's Drum (1930) and Vertigo (1937), all of which I have loved since by luck finding them in my dad's library in boyhood (though Kuper's tales, unlike Ward's, include words). Kuper also cites influence by the German expressionist artists Käthe Kollwicz, Georg Grosz and Otto Dix. However, Kuper uses scratchboard, a modern and less laborious technique than Ward's wood cutting (though seemingly equally effective). You will find particularly moving and memorable his dark tales, "Before the Law" and "In the Penal Colony."
