An excellent resource that brought back to mind many of the long-lost Polish traditions that my large ethnic maternal family practiced during my early years. I actually bought two copies...one for me and one for my oldest daughter Amanda, because she wanted to begin exploring her Polish roots (from which she gained, among other things, her beautiful looks and her gorgeous red hair!!!). Highly recommended book!!!

A great book for people doing genealogical research on Polish ancestry, or anyone who simply wants to understand Polish culture. This really sheds light on the traditions of Polish people, by connecting those traditions with the cycle of the year. Very readable.

I liked the book but it is mostly about customs and superstitions that were in belief so long ago they are not relevant to even the world of my grandparents.

Good read - lots of interesting historical information.

Not quite what I expected but informative.

Found out some Polish customs that my grandparents may have practiced in Poland but not once they came to America. Very interesting.

I chose this book to try and get a flavor of Polish customs for some projects I was writing on, and I was so pleased to find a treasure trove of the Polish heritage. This book is a goldmine. It's easy to read, and not necessary to read straight through. It covers all the feasts during the year, broken down by months, then it includes birth and death customs and Polish games and Pastimes for Children. My only "regret" is that when different Polish dishes or menus were mentioned that no recipes were given, but I guess that would have to be another volume. I highly recommend this book!

As a native Texan, I love this cookbook. The recipes are broken up by regions, so you get a nice variety of local cuisines from coastal fish/shrimp, central Texas comfort foods, to South Texas Tex-Mex, and even some eastern Cajun. All the recipes are easily doable by everyone without a huge list of crazy ingredients and most importantly, they're really tasty. And I love that everything features a well photographed example of the dish. I plan on buying this for some family members for Christmas. Two thumbs way up!

This is my most favorite cookbook at the moment, and I know I'll keep going back to it for repeats in the future. I've made probably about 20 recipes from this book so far, and nothing disappoints. It's all been incredibly wonderful, and I can't wait to cook from it each week for our family dinners on Sunday. I haven't made any desserts from the book since we don't eat them often, but I do plan on making the Nieman Marcus Cake this week. I have at least 20 more recipes bookmarked for the future, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to stop until I've cooked everything.The pictures are wonderful, and there are plenty of recipes worthy of the price of the book. I'm not one that likes a lot of stories in my cookbook, and there are a couple here and there in this one, but they fit in. I love how the cookbook is separated by different regions of Texas and also offers a couple of menu ideas for BBQs and holidays.I HIGHLY recommend the Charro Beans! My husband who absolutely hates beans and never ever eats them, ate the Charro Beans and even asked for more. The Chicken & Dumplings was also a major favorite, and my family went back for seconds. Some of the recipes can be quite lengthy in time, so I suggest reading your recipe at least 2 days ahead of time to make sure you're prepared. Well worth it!

This is a really great cookbook! I am a native Texan, and all of these recipes look really authentic and delicious! So far, all that I have tried have been awesome, especially the King Ranch Casserole - this is the absolute best one that I have ever tried or made! This is my go-to recipe from now on!! Plus, I love the regional stories, the photos, everything! I am slowly making my way through this book, and looking forward to making more of the recipes!! This is a great addition to your cookbook collection, for sure!

Wonderful cookbook with Texan/Tex Mex recipes. Every single item we have cooked, baked or stirred (YES! It even has awesome drink recipes) has been phenomenal! LOVE this book and bought it for two family members and a good friend who cooks daily.

If you like TX Bar-B-Q and have a smoker, this is the cookbook for you. VERY authentic recipes and great results. I no longer live in TX but I do miss the food. This cookbook let's me relive all that I like about TX cooking.

This is a wonderful cook book!!! Beautifully photographed, recipes are easy to follow along with and I love the regional breakdown of Texas cuisine! The San Antonio Puffy Tacos were tasty, the Texas Beefed up Bloody Mary made my family's Sunday Brunch, and the Tequlia lime pie was super refreshing in this 115 degree Atizona heat!!! I'll definitely be cumin back ya'll! 😉

Have tried a couple recipes from this book so far. Highly approve!

Bought as a gift for a friend in Mongolia who has never been to Texas.

It's just a calendar so no big deal, right? Well, it IS kind of a big deal because this 2017 calendar is probably the last Vampire Diaries calendar; the show will begin its final season in October 2016. The pages don't have a lot of surrounding artwork, just the actor/character in all their glory. Some are new photos and some we've seen before. The colors are nicely reproduced. If you're a fan, this is a nice TVD souvenir as well as a calendar.

I received my calendar today and I absolutely love it! I was scared to buy it at first because it only had 2 reviews but I'm really glad that I did. It's everything that I expected & I do love the pictures.

The calendar was absolutely beautiful although it came a little bent... made it work though and it's a nice addition to any TVD loving room. (:
