The plays are classics. This collection is well crafted and a pleasure to read; the care that the publisher has put into treating August Wilson's plays with respect gives them a much-deserved place of prominence.

This ten-volume set of plays, August Wilson Century Cycle, is a fitting tribute to arguably the finest African-American playwright to date. As a college professor who regularly teaches drama, I have read and taught the plays in separate editions, so the quality of the writing/theatre in August Wilson was not new to me.Wilson's brilliant idea (fortunately completed before his untimely death in 2005 at age 60) was to write a play depicting each decade of the 20th century from the African-American perspective. This idea is fittingly captured here in a handsome boxed set, making the full range of plays available at a per-play cost below single- or three-play editions. Beautifully designed and planned with room for easy access as well as sturdy boxed protection, this is a set ideal for gifting--self included.
Such a great writer and serious of plays. Definitely important for our past and our future. Books came in perfect condition. Having originally read these books (publisher wise) from libraries I know that they'll last for years and several more readings to come.
I LOVE August Wilson, but I took a couple of years before I decided to buy this due to the cost. I am so glad I did buy it. Those introductions make it so worth it. I keep it in my office and bring it to class when I teach his plays.

Augus Wilson was an amazing writer. And to have play he has ever written in this wonderful collection is just fantastic. The forwards to each book are insightful and a nice way to introduce each play if you are not familiar with Mr. Wilson or his work. So glad that I was able to add this to my collection of plays.
I am thrilled with this boxed set. August Wilson's plays are an American treasure and I would recommend them to everyone of all ages and ethnic groups. His language and insights are brilliant.
